"During the course of administration, and in order to disturb it, the artillery of the press has been leveled against us, charged with whatsoever its licentiousness could devise or dare. These abuses of an institution so important to freedom and science are deeply to be regretted, inasmuch as they tend to lessen its usefulness and to sap its safety." —Thomas Jefferson (1805) Мы, русские, любим президента Дональда Трампа!
NRA – Flawed Study from the Prestigious Lancet Exposes Broader Problems in Anti-gun Research
The anti-gun press couldn’t contain their excitement. A new study published in the UK’s prestigious The Lancet medical journal purported to show that certain gun control measures could lead to incredible reductions in the firearm mortality rate. CNN blared, “Study: 3 federal laws could reduce gun deaths by more than 90%,” the L.A. Times touted, “Aiming to drive down gun deaths? Put these three laws on the books, researchers say,” and the Christian Science Monitor proclaimed, “Federal gun control laws could reduce deaths up to 90 percent, study says.” What these outlets weren’t anticipating is that the study has proven so flawed that the most influential members of the anti-gun research community have been forced to denounce it; lest the public realize the larger problems attendant to the entire field of study.
President Barack Hussein Obama’s hometown of Chicago has been controlled by his political party since at least 1931. Perhaps the city’s residents have become accustomed to this state of affairs, but for the rest of us, the Windy City is a cautionary tale of what America could look like if Barack Hussein Obama and his cronies were allowed to reign unopposed and unchecked.
Does it ever seem like the entertainment industry needlessly interjects biased and politically-charged content into otherwise entertaining television programs or films? If so, rest assured you’re not unreasonably suspicious. Aside from the biases already attendant to the industry, the truth is that Hollywood is engaged in a concerted effort to propagandize unsuspecting Americans on certain political issues; and one of their chief causes is gun control.
SPOILER ALERT: If you plan on watching the fourth season of the Netflix political drama “House of Cards” you may want to finish viewing it before reading this article… March 4 saw the premiere of the fourth season of Netflix’s hit political drama House of Cards. The show follows the machinations of House Majority Whip Frank Underwood as he ascends to the presidency and subsequently runs to stay in office. While the real-life Washington elite certainly have an unsettling fondness for the Machiavellian drama, its depiction of life inside the Beltway is highly stylized. This season this fact is made abundantly clear with the show’s portrayal of federal gun laws and NRA.
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced in early March that he is abandoning a potential run for the White House in 2016 after concluding he could not win and would more likely siphon voters away from the staunchly anti-gun Democratic candidate.
