Dems RUMBLE: Pelosi says she has never ‘gone to that place’ before going there about her OWN caucus
As you may know, 17 Democrats (so far) are declaring that they will be in opposition to Nancy Pelosi once again being Speaker of the House of Representatives.
CNN’s Manu Raju asked Pelosi about the letter from the 17 Dems calling for new leadership in the House.
Tried to ask Pelosi about letter signed by 17 Ds, and she pushed back: "Have you seen the letter?" (It's not public yet) I then asked how could she have total confidence, she said: "I do." And I continued: How could you be so confident with 17 apparent no votes: "Next question." pic.twitter.com/8FPBT78LbZ

“I think of the 17, it’s mostly like 14 men who are on that letter, and you know I have never gone to that place. I enjoy a tremendous amount of support from the women in our caucus.”
She wants everyone to know she doesn’t “go there” in terms of saying the opposition to her is because of her gender, right before going there.
"If in fact there is any misogyny involved in it, it's their problem, not mine," Pelosi said of the effort to oppose her leadership bid. "I intend to win the speakership with Democratic votes." https://t.co/2ER1aqhhGu

It is a clever way for her to go to that place without it appearing as if she is going to that place.
“You know I’ve never gone to that place,” @NancyPelosi asked if sexism and misogyny is at work in challenges to her Speaker bid. “If that’s the case, that’s their problem, not mine.”

Senior House Democratic lawmaker on if Pelosi can’t get the votes to become Speaker: “It’s who blinks first. Is it Nancy or is it the caucus?” Another sr Hse Dem on the leadership fight: “It’s going to get ugly”

Looks like the Democratic caucus is going to be in for a lengthy leadership fight.
