TIME TO BRING BACK FREEDOM FRIES? Donald Trump scolds French president over ‘very insulting’ military suggestion
Well, President Trump’s trip to France to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the end of World War I is off to a good start:
President Macron of France has just suggested that Europe build its own military in order to protect itself from the U.S., China and Russia. Very insulting, but perhaps Europe should first pay its fair share of NATO, which the U.S. subsidizes greatly!

The French press is tweeting about the end of the Trump-Macron “bromance”:

Apparently, President Macron made this comment a few days ago and everyone missed it here in America with our election and all:
Macron made the comments a couple of days ago and so the tweet could have come earlier…but then it wouldn’t have made quite such an impact. Timed to disruptive perfection.

And it’s not even a plausible idea:
Macron suggested this (improbable) plan a couple of days ago. I can't find any expert who thinks it's all that plausible to build a "European" military. But tightening nation-state cooperation, yes. https://t.co/3DJbwLn8fS
