Nancy Pelosi’s Daughter Spreads Fabricated Quote From Trump’s Labor Secretary
Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Christine Pelosi, tweeted a fake quote from Labor Secretary Alex Acosta regarding the Jeffrey Epstein child sex trafficking scandal.
“Mr. Epstein was a very wealthy and important person, his friends even more so, and these girls – much as we sympathized with them – just weren’t either of those things,” reads the false Acosta quote.
David Frum, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, tweeted this “quote” as a sarcastic paraphrasing of Acosta. Frum deleted his tweet when he discovered that people were taking it seriously.
Instead of verifying the facts or providing attribution, Pelosi tweeted the false quote to her 84,900 followers. Pelosi has since deleted the tweet.
Pelosi has already gained attention for a controversial tweet about the Epstein scandal over the past week.
“It is quite likely that some of our faves are implicated,” Pelosi tweeted. She was referencing Donald Trump’s previous social friendship with Epstein from the late 1980s and early 1990s.
This Epstein case is horrific and the young women deserve justice. It is quite likely that some of our faves are implicated but we must follow the facts and let the chips fall where they may – whether on Republicans or Democrats. #WeSaidEnough #MeToo https://t.co/2mvskwQwW1

Conveniently, Pelosi neglected to mention that Bill Clinton was friends with Epstein as well.
Regardless of the details on Epstein’s connection to Trump and Clinton, the point of the matter is that Pelosi pushed fake news for political purposes.
