A man identified as an “Antifa street thug” copped a plea deal for assaulting a 56-year-old Trump supporter and will be sentenced to 18 months in jail for an attack that sent the victim to the hospital.

David Campbell, 32, pleaded guilty to two counts of felony assault and is expected to be sentenced later this month, according to the New York Post.

Part of a group of about 80 protesters at a Jan. 2018 private event, Night for Freedom, organized by conservative commentator Mike Cernovich, Campbell reportedly stalked his victim as he left the event and attacked him about a block away, punching the man and choking him.

Campbell allegedly choked and punched the man, and the NYPD charged him with strangulation, assault, resisting arrest, loitering, criminal possession of a weapon and obstruction of government administration, the Post reported. The victim, who wasn’t identified, had to be taken to nearby Bellevue Hospital.

Cernovich called out the media for largely ignoring a case involving an Antifa member beating down a Trump supporter, and promised further legal action to expose who is funding the violent group that claims to oppose fascist behavior — even as the exhibit that very behavior.

“When the [alt-right group] Proud Boys got into a street fight with Antifa members, it was a nationwide story. The Mayor and AG tweeted about the street fight,” Cernovich told the Post. “When Antifa attacked a 56-year-old man, silence from the press.”

“Now that the criminal case is closed, I will also be taking legal action against Mr. Campbell and his confederates. It is time to find out who is funding Antifa,” he added.

A photo showing the severity of the man’s injuries was included in a New York Daily News story.

A video capturing Campbell being detained by police after the attack is seen below — other Antifa thugs are seen harassing the officers at the scene.

The plea deal drew a response from Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump and his namesake.

“When will the establishment media start covering the epidemic of leftwing violence against Trump supporters?” he asked.

Here’s a sampling of other responses from social media users, who seem convinced that the Antifa thug won’t be as brave in prison.
